Subtle colors blend in a 24" x 30" acrylic painting titled "Before The Storm", original and one of a kind painted in the New Mexico studio of Thomas Hill.

This abstract painting has a soft, atmospheric quality, built from translucent layers of color that seem to drift and dissolve into one another. Cool blues and smoky grays dominate the upper portion, creating the feeling of sky, weather, or distant shadow. Below, warm passages of yellow-green, ochre, peach, rust, and muted orange rise through the composition, giving the work a sense of landscape, memory, or shifting light.

The surface appears textured, with visible brush movement, subtle scraping, and raised marks that add physical depth to the otherwise misty color fields.
