Welcome to ThomasHillArt—original art, imaginative apparel and unusual gifts from New Mexico, where the desert is inspiring and my imagination rarely takes the most direct route. I’m Thomas Hill, a New Mexico artist with a lifelong love of creating, a fascination with the unexpected and a sense of humor that finds its way into almost everything I do. My work brings together surreal imagery, bold color, visual puns, strange creatures and familiar things seen from an unfamiliar angle. Sometimes it’s playful. Sometimes it’s a little dark. Sometimes it has something pointed to say. New Mexico is at the heart of much of my work. Its expansive skies, rugged mountains, adobe buildings, desert plants and roadside oddities provide endless inspiration. You’ll find echoes of Santa Fe, the Sandia Mountains, Route 66 and Roswell alongside chile-fueled humor, improbable UFO encounters and jackalopes with personalities of their own. I like exploring the place where the recognizable Southwest meets something that could only exist in the imagination. 
That curiosity extends well beyond the desert. Music, art, science, everyday frustrations and the peculiarities of being human all find their way into my designs. There are affectionate jokes for artists, musicians, nurses, gardeners, activists and rockhounds; surreal creatures for people drawn to the strange; and satire for those who appreciate a little bite with their humor. 
I enjoy double meanings, unexpected combinations and images that reward a second look. Throughout the shop, you’ll find T-shirts, hoodies, mugs, stickers, badges and accessories alongside original paintings and drawings. Some pieces are meant to make you laugh. Others invite you to linger, wonder or start a conversation.
