Abstracted Dreams Acrylic Painting On Canvas

Darkness and dim light blend in a 24" x 30" acrylic painting titled "If Luxembourg Was Only Larger", original and one of a kind painted in the New Mexico studio of Thomas Hill.

This atmospheric abstract painting evokes the feeling of moving through a dreamlike architectural space. Soft, translucent veils of olive green, ochre, amber, and muted crimson drift across the surface, creating a sense of depth and motion. Angular geometric forms emerge and dissolve within the composition, suggesting fragments of windows, doorways, bridges, or urban structures viewed through memory rather than direct observation.

Bold diagonal elements in deep burgundy and charcoal anchor the composition, while luminous rectangular shapes glow like distant lights or openings. The painting balances structure and ambiguity, inviting the viewer to explore shifting relationships between form, space, and color. Layered brushwork and softened edges create a mist-like atmosphere, giving the work a contemplative, almost cinematic quality.

The overall mood is introspective and evocative—part cityscape, part landscape, part memory—allowing each viewer to discover their own narrative within its abstract architecture. Rich earth tones combined with subtle greens lend warmth and sophistication, making the piece both visually engaging and emotionally resonant.

It is hand-signed and dated both on the front and the back. High quality acrylic paints used on a 1 1/2" deep gallery wrapped quality 10 ounce thick cotton duck canvas. Stretched on a strong wooden frame, this gallery wrapped canvas is splined and stapled on the back and painted on all sides to reveal a wraparound painting that does not need a frame.

It is ready to hang unframed and comes with all hanging hardware attached. It is archival and will last for decades to come.

This artwork would make a wonderful addition to your home, your office, or even as a gift.
