An original pen and ink drawing from contemporary New Mexico artist Thomas Hill, this is an 18" x 24" artwork on heavyweight 140# art paper.
The artwork is a black and white illustration that features a whimsical portrait of a smiling man with his eyes partially closed. Surrounding his face are various objects and elements that seem to emerge from his head and thoughts, like a visualization of a creative mind bursting with ideas. These include a wheelchair wheel attached to his hair, a rope-like object around his neck, a ladder leaning against his shoulder, and a whimsical, spiraling object above his head. More importantly is a skeletal foot sitting on top of his head.
Words are also integrated into the composition, with 'CALCANEUS' extending from the ladder and 'FRACTURE' appearing as if it's a physical extension protruding from his nose. Additional scattered elements such as stars, a square clock, splashes, and squiggles contribute to the dynamic and imaginative nature of the piece. The attention to detail in the lines and shading gives the drawing a sense of depth and texture, emphasizing the thought and care put into this pen-and-ink creation.
