An amazing pen and ink drawing (with pencil shading) on 18" x 24" archival white 140# heavyweight paper. New Mexico contemporary artist Thomas Hill hand-drew this work of art and is a one-of-a-kind original drawing.
Original 18x24 artwork on archival paper by New Mexico artist Thomas Hill. This highly detailed black-and-white piece features a surreal, carnival-like moon face with exaggerated eyes, a wild grin, strange stitched and patched details, ladders, beads, grass-like textures, and theatrical figures emerging from the lower edge.
The drawing has a strong outsider-art, lowbrow surrealist, and dark carnival feeling, combining humor, unease, and intricate pen-and-ink mark-making. Fine crosshatching, stippling, scratchy linework, and hand-drawn textures give the piece depth and character while keeping the energy raw and immediate.
A one-of-a-kind original artwork, ideal for collectors of surreal illustration, dark whimsical art, contemporary folk-inspired drawing, New Mexico art, or unusual statement pieces.

The artwork is a detailed monochrome illustration that features a character with exaggerated and somewhat disturbing features. The character has a large head with a prominent, wide-open mouth full of teeth and bulging eyes. There are various objects and patterns adorning the head, such as a band-aid, a ladder emerging from a hole and some objects protruding from the top. The character's skin exhibits intricate textures and may be patchy in places. It has three bodies attached, one wearing a bow tie, the other two bodies have clothing with oversized buttons. One hand is visible, raised as if grasping at something or gesturing. The overall style of the drawing is edgy and surreal, with meticulous attention to shading and detail, conveying a sense of zany and quirky horror.
